The NSIDC DAAC provides access to the MODIS data and documentation at the following location: NSIDC DAAC MODIS Data Collection.

The MEaSUREs Grounding Zone of the Antarctic Ice Sheet, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set is produced under the Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) Program.

This data set, available through the NASA NSIDC DAAC, experienced a processing error for files with dates from 10 August through 12 October 2022.
The ATL07QL, ATL08QL, ATL09QL, and ATL10QL data sets, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), have updated to Version 6.

Updates to Version 5 of the ATLAS/ICESat-2 L3A Along Track Inland Surface Water Data Quick Look (ATL13QL) data set will end on 17 January 2023 creating a gap in the temporal coverage of the quicklook data set until Version 6 of this data set is released. An estimated release date for Version 6 of ATL13QL is not currently available.

The ATL07QL, ATL08QL, ATL09QL, and ATL10QL data sets, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), will be updating from Version 5 to Version 6. On 17 January 2023, ATL07QL, ATL08QL, ATL09QL, ATL10QL Version 5 data will no longer be added, creating a gap in the “quick look” temporal coverage until Version 6 data are released on 19 January 2023.

The SMAP Radar Twice-Daily SAR and SIR-Enhanced Scatterometer EASE-Grid 2.0 Radar Backscatter, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set contains twice-daily synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and enhanced-resolution scatterometer radar backscatter derived from SMAP radar data from 13 April 2015 to 5 July 2015.

The Global PyGEM-OGGM Glacier Projections with RCP and SSP Scenarios, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set comprises results from a hybrid glacier evolution model that uses the mass balance module of the Python Glacier Evolution Model (PyGEM) and the glacier dynamics module of the Open Global Glacier Model (OGGM).

Two IceBridge data products from the NSIDC DAAC have been updated to include data from the 2019 Arctic and Antarctic campaigns.

The MEaSUREs Weekly-To-Monthly Greenland Outlet Glacier Terminus Positions From Sentinel-1 Mosaics, Version 1 data set is now available at the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC). This data set is part of the NASA Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) program. It consists of ice front positions for 219 outlet glaciers in Greenland from 01 January 2015 through 31 December 2021.

The Near-Real-Time DMSP SSMIS Daily Polar Gridded Sea Ice Concentrations, Version 1 data set will be retired from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) on 31 December 2022. Access to the data will no longer be available, but the data set documentation will remain available for future reference. Access to the documentation is provided on the data set web page at the NSIDC DAAC: https://nsidc.org/data/nsidc-0081/versions/1.

The MEaSUREs Greenland 6 and 12 day Ice Sheet Velocity Mosaics from SAR, Version 2 data set, accessible through the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC), has been updated. New data from 23 June 2022 to 09 October 2022 have been added.

Collection 6.1 Terra forward processing has resumed at MODAPS as of 12/16/2022, following an update to the geolocation code to relax the "orbit tolerance" limit that is imposed on MODIS geolocation data generation. This became necessary, following certain changes in the Terra orbit configurations, after the last two set of Terra Constellation Exit Maneuvers (CEMs) carried out in October, 2022. All Collection 6.1 Terra and combined product generation should now be back to nominal status. A similar geolocation code update is expected for Collection 6 early next week.
